Darkest Hour

Darkest Hour 4

  • 60ml Ron Zacapa 23
  • 20ml Clove-Infused Joseph Cartron Poire William Eau De Vie
  • 10ml Punt e Mes
  • 10ml Cinnamon Infused Maple Syrup
  • 1 dash Black Walnut Bitters

Add all ingredients into a chilled mixing glass, add ice and stir.  Strain into a chilled wineglass or brandy glass.  For more information about the background of this drink, click here

Clove-Infused Poire William Eau De Vie

  • 250ml Joseph Cartron Poire William Eau de Vie
  • 10 Dried Cloves

Combine all ingredients into a clean, airtight container.  Let sit for 4 days, agitating contents periodically.  Remove and discard cloves.

Cinnamon-Infused Maple Syrup

  • 330ml Maple Syrup
  • 10inches Cinnamon Stick

Combine all ingredients into a clean, airtight container.  Let sit for 7 days, agitating contents periodically.  Remove and keep cinnamon sticks for other use.  I like to torch the cinnamon sticks for a wonderful smell, to pair either with the Darkest Hour, or for any classic cream/brandy cocktail
